Downham Market
Downham Market, sometimes referred to as just Downham, is a market town and civil parish in West Norfolk, approximately 6 miles from the Farmhouse. It is set on the banks of the River Great Ouse, and dates back to Saxon times, as one of Norfolk’s oldest market towns.
The attractive market place is immediately identifiable by the splendidly unusual and majestic black and white clock. The area is brim full of historic buildings and amazing architecture. The town retains a really intimate feel, characterised by many fine historic buildings, craft and collectibles markets.
Watatunga Wildlife Reserve
Watatunga Wildlife Reserve is a stunning wildlife reserve offering wildlife safari tours of the animals across the grounds, based just 10 minutes away from The Farmhouse. Situated amongst 170 acres of woodland, grassland and lakes, Watatunga provides a unique environment for over twenty types of ungulate and rare bird species to roam at their will.
Sandringham Estate
Sandringham is the much-loved country retreat, of their majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, and has been the private home of British Monarchs since 1862. Offering house and garden tours, Sandringham Royal Park spreads over 243 hectares with way-marked trails for cycling or exploring by foot and a children’s play area.
The Royal Park is dog friendly with facilities.
Thetford Forest
A great day is to be had in the renowned forest of Thetford. Located just 12 miles from Fincham, the forest was created after the First World War as a timber supply and has developed significantly over the years. It now offers a wide range of activities, which makes it one of the most popular outdoorsy visitor attractions in the area.
